When we postponed our 2020 conferences to 2021 we hoped that by now we would be able run them safely. It's with real regret that we have concluded that with the pandemic ongoing, this just isn't possible. Instead, we will be transferring all existing tickets to our online event series LeadDev Together, taking place from April to June 2021.
The series is an exciting new format that we piloted in 2020, receiving fantastic feedback from participating teams. It is designed for teams and you’ll get the most out of it by attending with a number of colleagues. To get you started with putting a team together, each transferred conference ticket includes one additional ticket to LeadDev Together.
Tickets for the following events will all be automatically converted to two tickets LeadDev Together:
• LeadDev New York
• LeadDev London
• LeadDev Manager of Managers
• LeadDev San Francisco
Ticket holders will all now have received an individual email about their ticket transfer. If you have not received an email, please get in touch at [email protected].
1. Check your email with subject line ‘COVID-19 update on your conference ticket’
2. Assign your additional ticket to a colleague by February 12
Looking ahead to 2022
We feel optimistic that with advances in testing and vaccinations, we will be back running live events by 2022. We love meeting the community face-to-face and you will be the first to know!
Until then, thank you for your incredible support over the last 12 months. We have worked hard to deliver thoughtful, original content and we are looking forward to bringing you more in the coming months. Make sure to register for free at leaddev.com/register for access to regular content each week.
We’ve tried to answer everything we think you might ask about transferring to LeadDev Together below. If we’ve missed anything just reach out to us at [email protected].
Can I come to LeadDev Together alone?
The sessions have been designed to have the most impact if you are able to participate in group discussions. Your transferred ticket automatically grants you an additional place for one other person from your organisation and we strongly recommend you take advantage of this.
Is it possible for our group to pay individually for tickets?
If you would like to purchase additional tickets for your team, please email [email protected] with details of how many additional people you expect will be in your group (so we can apply the right price) and we will be happy to set up and share a private ticket link for your group.
Can I bring someone or form a group with people from outside my organisation?
We strongly encourage you to join with someone from your organisation and believe that this is how you will derive the most benefit. However, you are free to create a group of people from outside of your organisation if you choose to.
Can I sub people in and out depending on the session?
No, the ticket will be for named individuals and we would encourage people to attend as many of the 6 sessions as possible. We have built in large discounts for larger groups to enable companies to book for bigger teams.
I made a large group booking for one of the in-person conferences. Can I send some of my team to LeadDev Together and keep some credit back for a future event?
Yes certainly. Please email [email protected] to discuss your needs.
Is there a maximum group size that can take part in LeadDev Together?
There is no limit to how many people can attend from one organisation but above 6–8 we do recommend that you break into smaller groups to aid discussions.
How do I transfer my in-person conference ticket to LeadDev Together?
If you are an existing conference ticket holder, your ticket has been automatically transferred to the LeadDev Together series which commences on 13 April 2021 and runs for 6 sessions. Your original conference ticket entitles you to two LeadDev Together tickets to enable you to join with a colleague. You need to assign your second ticket to your chosen colleague by 30 March 2021.
You should have received an email on 26 January 2021 with new ticket details. If you have not received an email or require assistance to assign your second ticket, please contact us at [email protected].
LeadDev Together looks great, but the timing does not work for me. What options are available to me?
We’ll happily transfer your place at LeadDev Together to a lucky colleague or friend if you need to. Please let us know as soon as possible and no later than 30 March 2021. Transfers will not be permitted mid-programme.
If for any reason you can’t attend at all, you’ll need to let us know no later than 30 days before the event start date (14 March 2021) and we can offer a non-refundable credit to redeem against future LeadDev events or a full refund. Refunds will not be issued after 14 March 2021. Refer to Terms and conditions for full details.
Can I sponsor LeadDev Together?
Yes absolutely but we only have very limited partnerships available so get in touch quickly!
If you would like to find out more about our partnerships, which help you connect with our wonderful community, we would love to hear from you at [email protected].
What times are the sessions?
There will be two showings for each session. You can choose which one to attend:
Showing 1: 10am–1pm PT / 1–4pm ET / 6–9pm GMT / 7–10pm CET
Showing 2 (the following day): 6–9am PT / 9am–12pm ET / 2–5pm GMT / 3–6pm CET
Please check the programme for timings in your location.
What if I can’t make one of the sessions?
All individual talks and panels are recorded and will be made available for LeadDev Together ticket holders shortly after each session.
How much time do I have to commit outside of the sessions?
As little or as much as you’d like. We’ll be suggesting exercises or actions that you can take to improve your software engineering practice in between sessions – but this isn’t a “course” and you won’t be getting marked on it; how far you want to progress is up to you.
Will you be releasing videos of the sessions?
Sessions will be recorded and ticket holders will be able to access them shortly after each session finishes. Videos will be made available to the public after LeadDev Together concludes.
Will there be live captioning for the sessions?
All sessions will be live captioned.
